Our Mission
Beyond Booking, Inc. is a community-driven, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization registered in the State of New York, that is dedicated to the discovery, development, and promotion of new contemporary music and digital creativity in New York.
Beyond Booking’s 20-year history demonstrates our vision, values, and passion for contemporary music as both a rewarding career and a path to collective healing and liberation; continuing the history of marginalized urban music and subcultures that emerged in NYC’s intersecting queer and BIPOC communities. We prioritize the work of artists who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and female-identifying, to help ensure their sustained creative and professional well-being. We focus on career sustainability for under-resourced veteran artists as they age in an often youth-focused industry. We help to support artists who are coping with mental health challenges.
Our Programs
Beyond Booking has been producing live music events since 2003, running a booking agency for many of our artists since 2006, and publishing their music on our two record labels since 2014.

Beyond Booking produces diverse live musical experiences where participants can experience genre-defying experimental music and dance, prioritizing the debuts of new musical works that showcase music’s life-affirming power. Beyond Booking presents two flagship performance series under the names The Bunker New York and Going In, and to date our programming has showcased more than 600 artists in hundreds of local performances since 2003.

Beyond Booking launched its Artist Representation program in 2006 to empower marginalized artists through sound artist management and show booking programs. Today we help a roster of 24 artists to realize healthy, sustainable careers, while offering the same high-quality services via consulting and mentorship programs for emerging artists.

To further amplify artists’ creativity and values, Beyond Booking operates two record labels –The Bunker and Going In–which have distributed more than 60 releases since 2014, resulting in numerous accolades and global audiences, ensuring our artists’ long-term livelihoods. These labels primarily serve as outlets to bring attention to music that would not be widely released otherwise. The record label program also produces podcasts and streams to amplify our artists’ work to a wider audience.

Our Mentorship and Education program brings professional development and mentorship opportunities to New York musicians from underrepresented communities through one on one sessions, public panels, and other educational materials we distribute to our community.
